Five Day, Lead Classroom Teacher

Spring Hill Children’s Center is a preschool and kindergarten initiative that serves the children and families of the greater Monadnock region. Tucked into the hills surrounding Keene, NH, our beautiful campus offers a rich environment for children ages 3-6 to explore the natural world and all its wonders. We are a Waldorf-inspired and Nature-based program. We are seeking teachers and staff who will facilitate curriculum-based environments out of a deep respect and understanding of children’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, and cognitive development. Free play, meaningful work, story, song, rhythm, imagination, and connection to the natural world are central to the program. Through this rich variety of activities Spring Hill aims to nourish the whole child, allowing the development of deep trust in themselves, care for others, a wonder-filled connection to nature, and a love of learning.
Five Day Lead Classroom Teacher
Five Day Lead Classroom Teacher wanted for the 2026- 2027 school year. Hours are 7:30 - 3:30 , Monday through Friday.
The type of teacher we are looking for:
Previous experience in an early childhood teaching environment, either as a lead or long-time assistant. 1-2 years of experience in a Waldorf setting preferred
Demonstrates confidence in Waldorf curriculum
Ability and desire to collaborate with other teachers
If new to Waldorf, then must come with a willingness to do continuing education in anthroposophy/ Waldorf curriculum
Holds a deep love for early childhood and understands child development
Experience creating and holding the daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms
EC Teacher responsibilities include:
Teach 5 days per week
Arrive by 7:30am
Participate in and support school festivals
Attend all all-school community evenings
Attend all in-school provided professional development offerings
Can meet the physical demands of working with young children (bending, stooping, walk on uneven surfaces, floor work, lifting children
Conduct at least two parent conferences annually with each family; additional conferences as needed
Maintain professional conduct and appearance
Maintain professional communication with parents
Qualifications:
Professional ECE teaching certificate or be willing to obtain these credentials, or hold a Para II teaching certificate
Previous teaching experience
Waldorf teaching certificate preferred
This position is within a licensed Early Childhood facility. All State of NH licensing requirements apply, preferably holding a minimum of 12 core semester units in Early Childhood Education or willing to obtain.
